Lauren Harmon, Assistant Principal
My name is Dr. Lauren Harmon and I have been part of the Hawk Family since 2015 while having been an educator since 2004. I am originally from the Chicagoland area and moved to Arizona in 2003. I graduated from Westminster College with a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. I earned my master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction and my doctorate in Educational Leadership and Supervision from Arizona State University. I first started teaching overseas, then I taught English and Reading at Mesa Public Schools, and served as an Assistant Principal in South Phoenix for a Pre-K-8 school before finding myself at Highland High.
I believe Highland is an exceptional school unlike any other. The immense academic, artistic, athletic, service-minded, musical, and creative talent that resides within the student body is astounding. The staff’s dedication is inspiring. I'm honored to continue to serve the Highland community as assistant principal overseeing the master schedule and academic programming.
Outside of Highland High I enjoy traveling, reading, attending sporting events, (especially Cubs spring training games), and spending time with my husband Lee, and my 3 ½-year-old daughter, Grace, who keeps me on my toes.
