Jamie LaBoissiere

Subject: English II/Honors English II
Room: 1140

English II
This course includes a review of grammar skills, the teaching of intermediate composition skills, and an examination of various literary genres that include the short story, poetry, drama, non-fiction, and the novel. Emphasis in both semesters will be placed on composition skills, critical reading, and critical writing skills.

Honors English II

The class will challenge students to critically read, analyze, evaluate, and synthesize ideas in literature, both fiction and non-fiction, and to present these ideas, in writing, in a well-written and compelling essay. In addition, students will learn to make strong connections between literature and their own life, modern circumstances, and humanity as a whole. Lastly, students will be taught to set their own goals in their English academics and strive to complete and exceed those goals.

*It is my goal to provide you with an academically challenging and thought-provoking experience as well as to strengthen your literary and composition skills. I believe that every student can succeed, and I look forward to watching you excel during the coming year.
