AP Chemistry  is designed to be the equivalent of the general chemistry course offered during the first year of college.
Major emphasis includes the structure of
matter, kinetic theory of gases, chemical equilibria, chemical kinetics, acids
and bases, an in-depth study of basic thermodynamics concepts,
reaction writing, and extensive laboratory work.
The rigorous and
challenging curriculum is designed to prepare the student for the Advanced Placement Chemistry Exam
or for earning dual enrollment credit through Chandler-Gilbert
Community College

Honors Chemistry is a challenging study of inorganic chemistry for the intrinsically motivated student.  Major emphasis is
on the experimental method, critical and independent thinking, and enrichment research activities.
Class prerequisites:  Successful completion of Biology; placement is based on a predetermined score on a district-approved
 test, Geometry B, or teacher
